Dear Meals of Gratitude Contributor:
We are overwhelmed with the outpouring of generosity from you, our founding contributors and wanted to provide you a quick update. Thank you for your donation to Meals of Gratitude! We regret that we cannot send individual thank you notes at this time, but we are no less thankful for your support.
With your help, in less than two weeks, we have:
- Raised over $70,000 – but we still have a long way to go!
- Provided 1,570 loving meals to frontline healthcare providers
- Supported the employment of restaurant workers in the community
- Received donations from over 300 people and organizations ranging from $5 to $10,000, which has enabled us to grow and begin to serve in this newly critical role for the coming weeks
The healthcare workers receiving the meals are happy and grateful! We have received tremendous positive feedback—together, with your support, we are truly making a difference. Here is an example of the impact we are making:
“As a healthcare worker during this pandemic, we look forward to any ounce of positivity as we put on an armor of faith, hope, and courage every time we come to work. Thank you for thinking of us by providing a sumptuous lunch. Your kindness warms our hearts and inspires us to go above and beyond. It certainly boosts our morale as we are reminded that we are in solidarity in overcoming this global crisis.”
The good news is that we are tying together the corners of our community triangle: donors, restaurant workers, and healthcare providers. The bad news is that we need to do this for at least another month or two. Our experts tell us we should be prepared to deliver meals through at least May 31, 2020.
To achieve our goal of delivering 1,000 meals a week through May, we need to raise a minimum of $150,000 to support our program.
You are receiving this note as a founding contributor. We are so thankful for your support and are not asking you for more support now, but we could use your help in spreading the word to your friends, family, and social networks (if you are in the position to do so, we would be indebted to receive additional contributions from you).
