Our Meals of Gratitude Supporters:
In this season, and in this uncertain time, we have much to be thankful for. But we are especially thankful for all of you, and for your support. With your help, we have delivered 22,425 meals to frontline providers at Stanford Hospital and Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital, as well as to first responders and evacuees from the wildfires in the late summer and early fall. This is such an amazing tribute to all of you, and far surpasses anything we could have imagined when we started eight months ago.
As most of you know, our community continues to ride a rollercoaster of uncertainty and challenge. We are all tired. We are all worried. In the middle of stress and strain, the people who receive our meals of love get a sign that our community cares about them, and is sending a virtual hug.
Our program also continues to help employ restaurant workers. We want to share our great appreciation to the Cantor Arts Center at Stanford, who has made it possible for the Meals of Gratitude Team to move into the Cool Café for production. Your generosity also makes it possible to continue to support local farmers, fisherman and ranchers, all of whom are also struggling in these challenging times.
In Jesse’s garden, she has a peace pole that is hand painted with the words, “Believe there is good in the world.” MOG friends, your generosity in these challenging times has reminded all of us that there is indeed good in the world. No one knows for sure what will happen in the coming weeks, although the scientists and public health officials suggest we have tough days ahead. As the local COVID numbers rise, hospitals fill up, and government restrictions increase, we will continue to do our best to serve our frontline providers. As long as we are able to raise funds, with your help, we will continue to provide meals of gratitude to those in our community who need it.
If you feel called and able to make additional tax deductible contributions, remember that you can do so on our donation page here.
As always, if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to reach out to us at Jesse@cooleatz.com or hktabwil@gmail.com. Please stay safe, and take care of yourselves.
With love,
Holly Tabor and Jesse Cool
